Youth Work Excellence Awards 2019
Last Friday, we were lucky enough to attend the Welsh Government Youth Work Excellence Awards in Llandudno to finish off #YouthWorkWeek in Wales.
The Twinning Youth Exchange project 2018 was shortlisted for the category “Promoting heritage and culture in Wales and beyond.” This is a huge achievement as only two projects were shortlisted for this category across Wales.
The Twinning Youth Exchange project took place last summer and young people from Vale of Glamorgan, Mouscron, Rheinfelden and Fecamp came together for weeks worth of activities to promote international friendships and Welsh culture.
Unfortunately we didn’t win but we were presented with a trophy and a certificate for being a finalist. It was great to be at the event to celebrate youth work and see the amazing work being done across Wales to support young people. The awards were presented by important people and the First Minister also gave a speech about the important work Youth Services do. Did you know he used to be a youth worker?
Big congratulations to all the finalists and the winners at the event 🙂
