In Youth Cabinet we had so many discussions about our work during lockdown and its affects. So many, that we decided to arrange to speak with young people from across the Vale of Glamorgan to ask some questions about their experiences of participation in the Vale. We really wanted to find out the strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats in participation and how we can improve and overcome what we do.

For the first meeting – we wanted to invite as many participation groups as possible. Emails and posts went out to promote this event.

We had participation groups from the Vale and Projects running in other areas. We had members from the Vale of Glamorgan Cabinet, UK Youth Parliament representatives and managers from the Vale Youth Service.

We managed to get all these people together so we could share ideas and it was a great chance for us to catchup with other groups and get inspiration from one another. We were able to share ideas and discuss what we our groups and projects want to do in the future
