At yesterday’s youth cabinet meeting we met managers from Careers Wales to further discuss our work experience proposal and the possibility of a Council Careers Fair. Our idea is to hold a careers fair with multiple stalls to promote the Council as a future employer, and the current opportunities to available such as apprenticeships. We would also like to invite local employers who can also offer apprenticeship opportunities and possible work experience options.

We also invited the new Welsh Youth Parliament Members to our meeting to raise awareness of youth participation in the Vale including platforms such as youth action groups and the Vale Youth Forum. We’d like to thank Lleucu and Rhian for attending and telling us more about their new role and look forward to working together in the future.

As a youth cabinet we are looking forward to getting involved in the Youth Service’s 12 months of kindness project and will be planning an activity to give back to the local community this month.
