What did the Youth Cabinet discuss in October?
What did the Youth Cabinet discuss in October? avatar

The youth cabinet meet once a month to discuss issues important to young people and to work on their action plan.  The youth cabinet set objectives throughout the year that they want to work on.  At last night’s meeting the results of the Youth Mayor election were announced by the Leader of the Councillor, Cabinet Member for Learning & Culture and the Mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan.

The agenda was pretty full and we discussed the recent Vale Youth Forum meeting – congratulations to the new Chair, Angelina, and Vice Chair, Cameron.  Nikita had recently attended the Pride Cymru LGBT+ Youth Festival to learn more about the issues affecting LGBT+ young people and it was very interesting to watch the Iris Prize films, a celebration of LGBT+ films.  At the meeting we were also able to look at the recent results of the Make Your Mark survey and our MYP’s have created a summary document which will be shared across the Vale to promote the results.  We also began to design a new “Youth Pledge” for the Vale Mayor which we will be announcing at his Civic Service on 18.11.18.
