Rights Ambassadors News

Vale Rights Ambassadors have continued to meet digitally via Microsoft Teams. Over the last two months we have had three meetings and we also held a team building murder mystery activity too, to celebrate our achievements over the last year.
During our meetings we have completed Welsh Governments Children’s Right Scheme 2021 consultation, we have continued to revisit the National Participation Standards for Wales, learning about them and gathering evidence of how the project meets the seven standards. We have also looked at results of the Children’s Commissioner of Wales survey – Coronavirus and Me. Members have also completed the final Project Vote lesson and have cast their vote in the parallel election for 11-15 year olds.
During our meetings we have also looked at ways of creating new interactive activities to continue to raise awareness of the UNCRC, Children and Young People’s rights. We have had fun painting UNCRC pebbles, writing a story with children’s rights using story cubes and creating interactive quizzes.

Finally members have also developed their own digital workshops to raise awareness of the UNCRC to young people attending the Vale Youth Service themed weeks digital sessions. The workshop includes learning about Children and Young People’s rights through videos, discussion, games and pebble painting.
