Vale Rights Ambassadors Project:

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic this year, the Vale Youth Service and the Rights Ambassadors project were unable to organise their annual presentation evening, celebrating young people’s success. Instead we organised doorstep presentations at the beginning of July, ensuring that the achievements of young people from across the Vale of Glamorgan were celebrated.

Thirty-five young people were presented with their certificates for completing an Agored Cymru qualification. Twenty-four young people completed the Agored Cymru UNCRC Level 1 and eleven young people completed the Agored Cymru Children, Young People and Adults Rights in Wales Entry Level 3 qualification.

To complete the courses young people attended between 16 and 20 hours of evening and weekend training sessions, many of them using the opportunity to build up volunteering hours for the Duke of Edinburgh and Welsh Baccalaureate schemes.

A range of activities were utilised during the training to engage and accommodate a range of learners and support the development of transferable skills. The training also enabled young people to develop workshops and presentations to raise awareness of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The Vale Rights Ambassador project is open to all young people from across the Vale of Glamorgan.  It enables young people aged 11-25 to receive accredited training about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and to develop and deliver interactive children’s rights workshops across the county.  The project continues to grow; last year 1004 children, young people and adults participated in workshops and presentations delivered by the Vale Rights Ambassadors which contributed to 1241 hours of volunteering being achieved by members.

For more information about the project please contact Alex Thomas – alexthomas@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk, alternatively we have recently shared the project’s achievements through the Vale Youth Service social media platforms. You can also visit the Rights Ambassadors Project Website by clicking the link.

Prosiect Llysgenhadon Hawliau

Oherwydd pandemig Covid-19 eleni, ni fu modd i Wasanaeth Ieuenctid y Fro a phrosiect Cenhadon Hawliau drefnu eu noson gyflwyno flynyddol, i ddathlu llwyddiant pobl ifanc. Yn lle hynny, trefnwyd cyflwyniadau ar garreg y drws ddechrau mis Gorffennaf, gan sicrhau bod llwyddiannau pobl ifanc o bob rhan o Fro Morgannwg yn cael eu dathlu.

Cyflwynwyd tystysgrifau i 35 o bobl ifanc am gwblhau cymhwyster Agored Cymru.

I gwblhau’r cyrsiau, mynychodd pobl ifanc rhwng 16 ac 20 awr o sesiynau hyfforddi gyda’r nos ac ar benwythnosau, a defnyddiodd llawer ohonynt y cyfle i gronni oriau gwirfoddoli ar gyfer cynlluniau Dug Caeredin a Bagloriaeth Cymru.

Defnyddiwyd amrywiaeth o weithgareddau yn ystod yr hyfforddiant er mwyn ymgysylltu ag ystod o ddysgwyr a darparu ar eu cyfer a helpu datblygu sgiliau trosglwyddadwy. Roedd yr hyfforddiant hefyd yn galluogi pobl ifanc i ddatblygu gweithdai a chyflwyniadau i godi ymwybyddiaeth o Gonfensiwn y Cenhedloedd Unedig ar hawliau’r plentyn.

Mae project Cenhadon Hawliau’r Fro ar agor i bob person ifanc o bob rhan o Fro Morgannwg.  Mae’r project yn galluogi pobl ifanc 11-25 oed i gael hyfforddiant achrededig ar Gonfensiwn y Cenhedloedd Unedig ar Hawliau’r Plentyn (CCUHP) ac i ddatblygu a chynnal gweithdai rhyngwladol ledled y sir.  Mae’r project yn dal i dyfu; y flwyddyn ddiwethaf cymerodd 1004 o blant, pobl ifanc ac oedolion ran mewn gweithdai a chyflwyniadau gan Genhadon Hawliau’r Fro a gyfrannodd at 1241 o oriau o wirfoddoli gan yr aelodau.

Am fwy o wybodaeth am y project, cysylltwch ag Alex Thomas – alexthomas@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk fel arall, rydym wedi rhannu llwyddiannau’r prosiect yn ddiweddar drwy lwyfannau cyfryngau cymdeithasol Gwasanaeth Ieuenctid y Fro.
