The Pupil Voice News Blog Workshop held on the 11^th July 2018 was open to all secondary schools councils as a way of ensuring all pupils across all schools were able to input their ideas on what the Vale of Glamorgan school blog should look like; the content it should include; as well as what the blog should be called.  The workshop brought together members of five school councils from across the Vale of Glamorgan and their link teachers to promote, develop, and support Pupil Voice and Youth Participation throughout the local authority.

The aims of the Pupil Voice blog news workshop were:

• To decide on what the blog should be called and to explore different marketing and publicity ideas to promote the blog.
• To decide how the blog should look by discussing ideas on layout, theme, colours and images.
• To decide what content should be included in the blog.

Having undertaken all three sessions, pupils then came together to work within their schools to work on their own school action plans. Each school was given their own action card which allowed them to take it away to discuss with other members of their school councils that had been unable to attend as well as year group pupils. Some of the actions that were discussed included publicity of the blog as well as discussing the blog with senior leadership teams within their schools. Some pupils suggested putting together a user guide for their school as well as encouraging all pupils to get involved with writing updates on the blog.

As well as pupils working on their own school action plans, the Vale of Glamorgan council staff also put together their own action plan which included the following points:

• Agreeing a start date – September 2018
• Ensuring that the three schools not present today were informed on the decisions made.
• Putting together a blog writing guide – “Do’s and Don’ts” as well as useful tips.
• Updating the schools on the progress of the blog development.
• Promotion of the blog, explore the idea of running a poster design competition to promote the blog.

Roedd Gweithdy Blog Newyddion Llais y Disgybl a gynhaliwyd ar 11 Gorffennaf 2018 ar agor i holl gynghorau ysgolion uwchradd fel ffordd o sicrhau bod pob disgybl ym mhob ysgol yn gallu rhannu eu syniadau o ran sut y dylai blog ysgol Bro Morgannwg edrych; y cynnwys; yn ogystal ag enw ar gyfer y blog.   Yn y gweithdy daeth aelodau o bum cyngor ysgol o bob rhan o Fro Morgannwg a’u hathrawon cyswllt ynghyd i hyrwyddo, datblygu a chefnogi Llais y Disgybl a Chyfranogiad Pobl Ifanc ar draws yr awdurdod lleol.

Nodau gweithdy newyddion blog Llais y Disgybl oedd:

• Penderfynu ar enw ar gyfer y blog ac edrych ar wahanol syniadau marchnata a chyhoeddusrwydd i hyrwyddo’r blog.
• Penderfynu sut y dylai’r blog edrych drwy drafod syniadau o ran cynllun, thema, lliwiau a delweddau.
• Penderfynu beth i’w gynnwys y blog. Ar ôl mynychu’r tair sesiwn, daeth disgyblion at ei gilydd i weithio yn eu hysgolion ar eu cynlluniau gweithredu eu hunain. Cafodd pob ysgol eu cerdyn gweithredu eu hunain a oedd yn eu caniatáu i fynd ati i drafod ag aelodau eraill eu cynghorau ysgol nad oedd wedi gallu mynychu yn ogystal â disgyblion grwpiau blwyddyn. Roedd rhai o’r camau a drafodwyd yn cynnwys rhoi cyhoeddusrwydd i’r blog yn ogystal â thrafod y blog gydag uwch dimau arweinyddiaeth yn eu hysgolion. Awgrymodd rhai disgyblion y dylid creu canllaw defnyddiwr i’w hysgol yn ogystal ag annog yr holl ddisgyblion i gymryd rhan drwy ysgrifennu eitemau ar gyfer y blog.
• Nid yn unig yr oedd disgyblion yn gweithio ar eu cynlluniau gweithredu eu hunain, fe wnaeth staff Cyngor Bro Morgannwg hefyd greu eu cynllun gweithredu eu hunain gyda’r pwyntiau canlynol:
• Cytuno ar ddyddiad dechrau – Medi 2018
• Sicrhau bod y tair ysgol nad oedd yn bresennol heddiw yn cael gwybod y penderfyniad a wnaed.
• Creu canllaw ysgrifennu blog – y pethau i’w gwneud a’r pethau i beidio eu gwneud yn ogystal ag awgrymiadau defnyddiol.
• Rhoi diweddariad i’r ysgolion ar gynnydd y blog.
• Hyrwyddo’r blog, edrych ar y syniad o gynnal cystadleuaeth dylunio poster i hyrwyddo’r blog.
