Rights Ambassadors were able to meet digitally for the first time earlier this month. Due to Covid 19 we have been unable to run our Community Ambassador sessions feeding into the work of the Children’s Commissioner for Wales. It was great to have the opportunity to get together existing members as well as new members who completed their accredited training earlier this year.
We had some fun by playing a Rights quiz on Kahoot and members also had an opportunity to discuss the Corona Virus and Me survey results for the Vale of Glamorgan. Whilst we can’t currently deliver workshops at the moment, members are planning how they can still raise awareness of Children’s Rights digitally. We hope to share more information soon.
We also completed Welsh Governments consultation around embedding a whole- school approach to mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Some of our members did tell us what they have missed about the project during lockdown. We hope that we can look at ways we can overcome this during the next few months.
Ashleigh “The social aspect, interacting with other members and building my knowledge”
Edo – “The ability to learn about rights and how it affects my future”
Charlotte – “delivering the workshops – I really enjoyed the one I did and would love to do another”
Nathan – “Learning new skills”
We look forward to sharing more updates with you soon!
