First Aid Friday

First aid training for young people is a big deal for the Vale Youth Cabinet and we think it’s really important that young people have the opportunity to learn first aid. We’re lucky we had the chance to do Basic First Aid training with St John’s Ambulance.

By working with the Vale Youth Service who ran a weeks worth of activities and trips during February half-term, we were able to encourage the Youth Service to run “First Aid Friday”. This involved a 3hr training session delivered by Proactive First Aid Solutions.

“First Aid Friday” was run in Barry, Penarth and Llantwit Major and 66 young people between the age of 10-20 took part in the training. AMAZING!

Also, thanks to raising this with the Leader of the Council, there is now a defibrillator in council buildings including the Civic Offices and the Dock’s Offices.
